I export videos and panoramas from D5 Render for client presentations, and the export process has specific challenges that image capture doesn't have. Video exports crash at high resolutions, panoramas show seam artifacts, and frame-to-frame flickering can ruin an otherwise perfect walkthrough. I've developed export workflows that address each of these issues.
Video Export: Resolution and FPS
D5 Render's video export is VRAM-intensive — more so than image export — because it must render every frame sequentially and buffer the video encoding.
Resolution guidelines:
- 720p (1280x720): Safe for all GPUs with 6GB+ VRAM
- 1080p (1920x1080): Requires 8GB+ VRAM for stable export
- 2K (2560x1440): Requires 12GB+ VRAM

- Use smooth curves: D5 interpolates between keyframes — ensure the path doesn't have sharp turns
- Add enough keyframes: More keyframes = smoother camera movement. I use a keyframe every 1-2 seconds of video.
- Preview before exporting: Play the camera path in real-time to check for issues before committing to a full export

- Set keyframes at the start and end of the desired path
- Add intermediate keyframes at decision points (corners, stops, zooms)
- Adjust the interpolation curve for smooth acceleration and deceleration
- Preview at 1080p with reduced effects

Panorama Export: Resolution and Format
D5 Render supports 360-degree panorama export for VR viewing and interactive presentations.
